Anxiety

Anxiety is the mind’s warning system. Anxiety means well but it is difficult for anyone to function with alarms going off all the time. I help clients learn how to manage this warning system and assess what the real threats are as well as adjust the volume of the alarms to the levels that work for us.

Depression

Depression can feel like a numbness or a heavy weight that makes any task feel impossible to accomplish. It can even feel like the better alternative, as not being numb can open us up to pain. If you’re tired of feeling numb and want to work toward change even if the “simple” steps seem impossible, therapy can help. I help my clients identify the source of what they are experiencing and identify reasonable steps and skills to manage the weight of depression

Relationships

Relationships are complicated, with romantic partners, friends, family and everyone in between. It is common to feel guilty saying no to others or to maintain boundaries when others push against them. Perhaps even more so to tell others what we need in our relationships. I help clients learn skills to express the change they want to see in their relationships in a healthy and respectful way.

Stress and life transitions

Life is stressful! We have challenges to navigate and struggle to manage everything, everywhere, all the time. Learning to helpfully respond to stress rather than react to it can be a challenging skill to learn. I help my clients learn this skill and get to a place where they are able to act on what they can change for the better and accept what they can not.
